Tracksuit Design

In "Spaceman," I collaborated closely with designer Catherine George to develop the tracksuit for Jakub Procházka, ensuring the design's practicality and cultural significance. By utilizing CLO3D, we were able to create precise digital prototypes that facilitated clear communication with costume fabrication teams and production designers. The tracksuit's color palette, featuring maritime blues and whites, was chosen to symbolize Jakub's connection to Earth and evoke a sense of nostalgia. My role was pivotal in translating these concepts into detailed technical illustrations, allowing for seamless coordination between the creative vision and the manufacturing process, ultimately grounding Jakub's interstellar journey in a sense of personal history.

EVA Suit Schematics

For Jakub Procházka's organ spacesuit in "Spaceman," integrating advanced technology and emotional depth was key. Detailed 3D renders facilitated communication with engineers, material specialists, and the visual effects team, ensuring every aspect of the suit was both functional and visually compelling. The color palette—blue surf, blanc de blanc, and cinnamon stick—was selected to convey the contrast between the cold expanse of space and the warmth of human life. These concepts were translated into practical designs, coordinating with various stakeholders to meet both narrative and technical requirements, reinforcing the film's exploration of survival and self-discovery.

EVA Suit Renderings

The 3D Orlan renders for "Spaceman" highlight meticulous attention to detail in Jakub Procházka's spacesuit design. Using advanced digital tools, highly detailed renderings were created to serve as a communication bridge between the design team, visual effects artists, and costume fabricators. 3D renderings were essential to visualize the combination of hard and soft materials, allowing for quick iteration of colorways and material finishes with high fidelity to physical materials. A series of numerous still variations were created, along with an animated, interactive web-based viewer to display the 3D suit in 360º and animate the helmet unlocking and removal. This facilitated seamless communication and ensured a harmonious blend of artistic vision and technical precision.
